With the Swat Valley as the bitter taste of the Truth that Pakistan is facing, this comes worst than that. Today, at Lahore, eight to ten militants, in an audacious ambush with the trainee policemen at the Matawan police training centre in this eastern Pakistani city. The training centre is not so far from the Wagah border which housed about 850 men inside while the terrorists struck the academy complex.

Witnesses said that some of the militants were disguised as policemen themselves when the complex was crowded with trainees for the morning parade.

As soon as the attackers entered, they started firing haphazardly. Grenades were seen brazing the compound which the attackers were seen hurling the training centre. The militants were so out dared that while shouting slogans like ‘Allah Ho Akbar’ and feeling immense proud and satisfaction at bulleting people. The eight-hour struggle ended with 34 people dead and a large chunk taken as hostages.

What is wrong with this country, after all? After so many militant activities and security breaches within their levels, now do they admit that Pakistan is going hollow within the security matters. She is under threat. No wonder, very soon the immediate neighbour would have to face such grave consequences like a heavy and a chronic militant attack, an inborn civil war between the army and the militants all grouped together and yes, the much practiced military coup ousting the prime minister or the president.

This country has been facing the tremors of instability since its creation. No democracy but yes, dictatorship to make the matters worse.

Where are people safe? What is going on the welfare of the people? The Shariyat Law being imposed is the current situation confronted by the masses of Swat is the burning example of the Pakistani government which has totally failed. What is the government capable to do, if it is not able to protect its own people from so-called militants in the guise of Islamists?
